MATERIALS AND CARE
According to the materials I have used for each piece I recommend specific care. Read the materials used in the product description or contact me for any further information or questions.
Large format pieces
For larger pieces I use either low or high temperature clays. Most of these pieces are made with ceramic paste with chamotte, which gives a rougher texture and character to the piece. I generally do not glaze them, maintaining this natural matte finish.
Jewelry pieces
Smaller pieces, such as jewellery, are made from stoneware or porcelain combined with silver and/or brass. Most of the jewellery is glazed and are fired twice. After a first firing, which ranges from 1100º to 1240º depending on the material, I glaze them and fire them again to obtain a glazed and completely finished piece. When I apply lustre, gold, silver, etc., I do a third firing, at about 700º.
I make my own color palettes of engobes and glazes by mixing ceramic components in different proportions.
If you are interested in other materials you can contact me to make a custom piece.
Jewelry weight
I put a lot of importance on the weight of the final piece. On average, they do not exceed 5 grams, depending on the model, which makes them especially light and comfortable to wear. You can see the weight of the pieces in the product description. If you have any specific request you can contact me.
Ceramics and glazes
If you intend to put water or any other liquid inside your piece, make sure it is glazed on the inside. You can find this information in the product description. In general, my products are not intended for food use and I do not recommend their use as a food container. Please contact me for any further questions or customisation of the products for this purpose.
Jewellery care
My ceramic jewellery is very strong and the metal protects it from possible impacts however, like any handmade product, it must be treated with care.
Handle your jewellery with care and avoid contact with perfumes, cosmetics, soaps, etc. Humidity and chemical agents can damage your jewellery.
Store your jewellery individually in its original packaging or in a safe place when you are not using it to prevent it from deteriorating. Do not store them in damp spaces or next to products, other jewellery or metals that can stain, oxidize or scratch them.
Over time, silver and brass can lose their luster and darken. This is a normal process due to factors such as the pH of our skin, environmental humidity, perfumes, cosmetics, etc... To recover its original shine we recommend cleaning silver with specific products for metal cleaning. You can also clean them very gently with water and neutral pH soap.
The ceramic part can get dirty with use, but can be cleaned with soap and water. Dry the piece well after cleaning so that the humidity absorbed by the ceramic does not oxidize the metal. For deeper cleaning you can contact me.
